Lakehills is an unincorporated community in Bandera County on Medina Lake — one of the oldest man-made lakes in Texas and one of the most scenic in the Hill Country. The community is primarily a lake residential area with fishing and water recreation as the primary draws.

Medina Lake — The defining feature of Lakehills. Medina Lake was impounded in 1913 and sits in dramatic limestone Hill Country terrain. The lake is known for excellent bass fishing and beautiful scenery. Water levels fluctuate significantly — the lake has experienced both dramatic drops and recoveries depending on rainfall.

Bandera proximity — The Cowboy Capital of the World is about 15 miles northwest on TX-16, providing the full range of Bandera's rodeos, dance halls, and Hill Country activities.

Hill Country State Natural Area — Accessible from Bandera, this 5,000-acre natural area offers equestrian and hiking trails in rugged limestone terrain.
