Spring Branch is a small unincorporated community in Comal County along the upper Guadalupe River, named for the springs that feed the river in this area. It sits between New Braunfels and Canyon Lake on the river corridor that has become one of the most popular tubing and kayaking destinations in Texas.

What to See & Do

Guadalupe River — The river is the reason Spring Branch exists as a destination. The stretch through this area offers excellent tubing, kayaking, and river swimming with several outfitters and public access points serving the recreational market.

Guadalupe River State Park — Just south of Spring Branch, this 1,900-acre state park offers four miles of Guadalupe River frontage with swimming, tubing, kayaking, camping, and hiking on the cedar-covered limestone hills above the river.

Honey Creek State Natural Area — Adjacent to Guadalupe River State Park, this area is accessible only through guided tours and contains rare plant communities along a spring-fed creek. Guided tours depart from the state park.

Natural Bridge Caverns — About 15 miles south, the largest commercial caverns in Texas are an easy day trip from Spring Branch.

Food & Drink

Spring Branch has limited dining options as an unincorporated community, but the river outfitters and some small commercial operations provide basic refreshments. Bulverde and Spring Branch's commercial corridor along TX-46 have grown to include more options in recent years. For a full dining experience, New Braunfels is about 15 miles east.
